ART EDUCATION

Beyond my personal visual art educational background, I also teach visual arts for youth and adults in the community as well. It is one thing to be making art, but to have fun creating with others is where it's at! As an artist myself, I have learned the power of how art can help a person through the intellect and expression involved in the process. I am hoping to achieve that power with those participating through my art programs.

I started as a volunteer in 1994 at the age of 12, then worked my way up to teaching at summer camps for youth with special needs in Colorado and Minnesota in my teen years. Furthermore, I was an art teacher in high school for grades K-8 through a work study program in a Northvale NJ public school and taught at the Woodstock Summer Camp in Woodstock NY during my college years. Currently, I am still teaching art regularly on both coasts.

Other backgrounds for my art education are as follows: Children's Hope Foundation for children with HIV/AIDS in Harlem NYC, Sugar Maples Art and Education Center assisting Hudson River School master oil painting courses in Maplecrest NY, NeuroRestorative Brain Injury Center art therapy in Blacksburg VA, The Women’s Resource Center for abused women and children art therapy in Virginia, Hollywood Arts Council lead art/photo instructor for youth in underserved communities in Los Angeles, Village Arts Children's Theater in North Hollywood CA, Paint Nite painting instruction in Los Angeles, Covenant House Art Coordinator/Instructor for homeless youth in Hollywood CA, Lindgren School & Summer Camp art teaching in Closter NJ, and more!
